2020 Ford Explorer Feature Highlights

One of the most exciting models to arrive in our new Ford inventory is the all-new 2020 Ford Explorer. An instantly recognizable nameplate, the Ford Explorer has spent nearly three decades as a leader in the SUV segment. Now in its sixth generation, it continues its tradition of greatness with all-new aesthetic and mechanical redesigns, and a long list of standard features at the base level.

Many of the Explorer's standard features are often relegated to the upper trims of competing models. Notable equipment of the base trim includes an 8-inch SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, a power liftgate, rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, 18-inch wheels, and more.

However, as the Explorer is a family-oriented vehicle, the most notable standard feature is, perhaps, the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced safety features and driver-assistance technologies. Included on every Ford Explorer model are safety systems designed to deliver extra confidence and peace-of-mind for Honolulu drivers. There is no substitute for attentive driving, but Co-Pilot360 provides supplemental protection with technologies like:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pre-Collision Assist: Using camera and radar technology, this feature monitors the road ahead and can warn of an imminent impact. It can even provide automatic emergency braking if the driver can't react in time.
  • BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert: This system alerts the driver to vehicle's in the Explorer's blind spot. Additionally, when in reverse, it monitors for traffic from both sides, so the driver knows when it's safe to back up.
  • Auto High-Beam Headlamps: Automatically switches on the high beams in poor lighting conditions and can adjust automatically to account for oncoming and leading vehicles.
  • Rear View Camera: Get a clear view of what's behind you. It even comes with a built-in wiper.
  • Lane-Keeping System: Monitors for and warns of unintentional drifting and signs of inattentive driving.
