The Mustang is available in two body styles, including the coupe and convertible. It features a timeless exterior styling with a long hood and a short trunk. You also get the three-segment taillights and a sloping fastback roofline. The front features a wide grille with the Mustang emblem. The new Mustang has several appearance packages from which drivers can choose depending on their preferences. Standard exterior features include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, and rain-sensing wipers.
Interior
The interior of the Ford Mustang is functional and pleasant, with intuitive tech features. Some standard interior features include a heated steering wheel, cloth seats, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a folding rear seat. Performance
The base version of the Mustang draws power from a 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The high-performance package delivers 332 horsepower. Three available muscular V8 engines deliver exceptional power.
The base engine and the GT have a standard 6-speed manual transmission with an optional 10-speed automatic transmission. All models come with a rear-wheel drive system. The GT500 has a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and uses premium gasoline.
The iconic Ford Mustang offers four performance packages that help boost handling, acceleration, traction, and braking. The base engine has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21/29 mpg in the city/highway with the manual transmission and 22/32 mpg with automatic. The supercharged V8 on the GT500 has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 12 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.
Ford Mustang Trim Levels
The Ford Mustang has six main trims and is available as a fastback or convertible.
EcoBoost - This base trim offers standard features, including cloth upholstery, a six-speaker stereo, a rearview camera, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and 18-inch alloy wheels. It draws power from a 310-horsepower turbocharged engine and comes with an optional high-performance package that increases the horsepower to 330.
EcoBoost Premium - This trim offers synthetic leather upholstery, a nine-speaker stereo, dual-zone automatic climate control, and power-adjustable front seats. You also get an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and USB ports.
GT - It gets its power from the 460-horsepower V8 engine and is only available as a coupe. The Mustang GT has the optional GT performance package with a Torsen limited-slip differential, Brembo front brakes, additional chassis bracing, and a performance rear wing.
GT Premium - It is available in the convertible and coupe versions. The Mustang GT Premium comes with leather upholstery, a garage door opener, puddle lamps, and the same performance package as the EcoBoost Premium.
Mach 1 - This model is only available as a coupe and powered by the 480-horsepower V8. Standard features include a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, an active exhaust, a Torsen limited-slip differential, Brembo front brakes, and a larger radiator.
Shelby GT500 - The Shelby GT500 is the highest trim and is only available as a coupe with a 760-horsepower supercharged V8, high-performance tires, Brembo brakes, and aerodynamic body accents. Other features include a race-inspired chassis and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler.
